How to Choose a Security Camera Monitor
A monitor is very similar to a standard TV set, in the sense that it grabs video data from an analog source and displays it on a screen. As opposed to a TV, a security camera monitor doesn't have a tuner device, so they can only be used to grab data from specialized devices like video cameras, DVD players or VCRs. Also, most monitors can't output sound. Why do you need a monitor, what's wrong with the TV? As most monitors are specialized on displaying video signal, they are much simpler and are very robust. Their simpler design makes them reliable. The output quality is usually better. If you want a professional surveillance setup you will need security camera monitors, as they are easier to configure and maintain, and are created exactly for this purpose. When you shouldn't buy a security camera monitor If you have digital security cameras, the monitoring software will probably run on a computer system and a computer monitor would probably be a better idea. It might be a good idea to get a large, high-resolution computer screens for the surveillance personnel.
